Brand deal discovery
@kai.outdoors was spending 2 hours every morning manually hiding scam DMs, spam comments, and impersonator replies. FeedGuardians automated it all — and surfaced a brand deal pattern they had been missing.
@kai.outdoors is an outdoor and adventure creator with 2 million followers across Instagram, TikTok, and YouTube. Like most creators at that scale, the comment and DM sections were a firehose of scam requests, impersonator replies, fake giveaway bots, and affiliate link spam.
Every morning started the same way: 45 minutes on Instagram hiding spam comments, 30 minutes on TikTok, 30 minutes on YouTube, and another 15 minutes triaging DMs. Two hours of repetitive work before the creator could start actually making content.
The bigger cost was hidden. Legitimate brand partnership DMs were getting lost in the noise. The creator suspected they were missing deals worth thousands of dollars because legitimate messages sat buried under copy-paste spam.
FeedGuardians was connected to all three platforms in under 10 minutes via OAuth. The creator uploaded a short brand-voice document (how they write, what their values are, topics they avoid) and the AI was configured with a creator-specific rule set focused on:
Impersonator account detection — comments from accounts using @kai.outdoors.real, @kaiofficial, @realkai variants that redirect followers to scam pages. These are the highest-value to hide because followers believe they are messaging the creator.
Scam giveaway detection — "you won our giveaway, DM us to claim" messages that try to phish follower credentials. These were hidden on sight.
Affiliate link spam and copy-paste bot replies under viral videos.
Tier 1 (automatic): spam, scams, impersonators, affiliate bait, and profanity under any post. The AI hid these immediately with no human review.
Tier 2 (triage queue): anything flagged as "potentially legitimate brand outreach" was routed to a dedicated brand-deal channel. The creator could check that channel once per day instead of scrolling through DMs manually.
A third rule: any DM containing specific brand-relevant keywords ("collaboration," "partnership," "rates," "sponsored") was surfaced at the top of the triage queue regardless of other flags — so legitimate opportunities never got lost.
Within the first week, 95% of scam, spam, and impersonator comments were being hidden automatically. The creator's morning moderation ritual disappeared entirely — down from 2 hours to less than 5 minutes of checking the escalation channel.
The unexpected result: brand deal discovery rate tripled. The creator realized they had been missing 2–3 legitimate partnership DMs per week that had been buried in scam messages. Over the first three months, the creator closed four additional brand deals worth roughly $34,000 total that would not have surfaced under the old manual workflow.
Follower-side experience improved too. Real fans asked their questions in the comments without having to wade through scam pitches first, and the creator started seeing higher engagement on educational posts because the comment section was actually useful to read.
“I thought I was losing 2 hours a day to spam. It turned out I was also losing thousands of dollars in brand deals that never made it to my inbox. That was the real unlock.”
